Every client's natural hair is different. Your final silk press results may vary depending on your hair's texture, density, condition, and overall health.

Preparing for Your Silk Press

If you regularly wear braids or other protective styles, I recommend shampooing and conditioning your natural hair at least once every 1–2 weeks between installations to maintain proper hydration and prevent excessive product buildup.

Although your appointment includes a customized hydration treatment and steam treatment, one appointment may not be enough to address weeks or months of dryness caused by inadequate hair maintenance.

Hydration & Style Longevity

Hair that is excessively dry or lacking proper hydration may not achieve the same smoothness, shine, and movement as well-maintained hair. Excessive dryness can also affect how long your silk press lasts, potentially causing the hair to lose its smooth finish or revert sooner than expected. Humidity, moisture exposure, and your natural hair texture can also affect the longevity of your style.

Healthy hair starts with consistent care. For the best results, maintaining a regular shampooing and conditioning routine between appointments is just as important as the treatments you receive in the salon.
